Dr. Lauren Ward–Selinger is a Naturopathic Physician in Bend, Oregon, certified by the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine. She has a well balanced approach to wellness, utilizing both naturopathic and conventional tools to find a healthy approach for treatment.  It is her goal to have you feeling and looking your best, while preventing future health issues. For adults, she provides both specialty and primary care services. For those who opt to have another primary care physician, she acts as a naturopathic specialist offering adjunctive care. Dr. Ward-Selinger can also be a primary care physician, managing care and performing regular preventive screenings and exams. For children, she prefers to be a specialist and therefore requests these young patients continue to have a pediatrician as well.

TRAINING

Dr. Ward-Selinger attended the National College of Natural Medicine, the oldest and most prestigious Naturopathic medical school in the United States. She completed a one year residency in general medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine, providing her the opportunity to learn first-hand from the experts in the field.  Her focus is primary care and integrative medicine, and she is also fluent in Spanish. She also completed her training with Tami Kent, MsPT for Holistic Pelvic Care©, a revolutionary treatment for chronic pelvic pain and a myriad of other issues. She is also trained in FemCap fitting, which is a successful and easy to use non-hormonal contraception.

As a medical intern, she completed a six month rotation in cardiology and pulmonology and an 18 month rotation in community health, working with an underserved community.  She also participated in a volunteer brigade to Nicaragua, which improved her medical Spanish and opened her eyes to international health. She was a formative member of the ECO Project (Ending Childhood Obesity) for two years, assisting with a hands-on cooking and nutrition course. Throughout her years at NCNM, she also worked part time at OHSU with a pediatric hematologist/oncologist, leading the Oregon Cord Blood Donation Program.

BACKGROUND

Dr. Ward–Selinger is originally from the Chicago area, and earned her Baccalaureate in Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Biology, Pre–Medicine and Spanish. After relocating to the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Ward–Selinger found and became enamored with Naturopathic Medicine. The emphasis of preventive medicine, whole body health and natural treatment modalities are what she thinks is unique to this education.

Outside of her profession, Dr. Ward–Selinger likes to spend time with her family, hiking and camping, commuting by bicycle, cooking healthy seasonal meals, and traveling.

Dr. Hannah Edmond is a Naturopathic Physician in Bend, Oregon, certified by the Oregon Board of Naturopathic MedicineShe prioritizes finding the root cause of disease, utilizing both naturopathic and conventional medicine to achieve wellness. She has an integrative approach and utilizes many tools to discover the best path forward in care. She can act both as a primary care provider or a naturopathic specialist for adults.  She enjoys using botanical medicine, nutrition, physical medicine and drainage in her practice.

TRAINING

Dr. Edmond attended the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. She completed a one year residency in general medicine at the National University of Natural Medicine. She worked extensively with Dr. Steven Sandberg-Lewis as a mentor in Functional Gastroenterology. Her focus is Primary Care and Integrative Medicine. 

In 2013, Dr. Edmond earned her certificate as a yoga instructor. She believes movement is an important factor in optimal health and incorporates this into her multi-faceted treatment plans. While in undergraduate studies, she also spent time in India studying Ayurvedic Medicine. She incorporates this understanding into her current practice. 

BACKGROUND

Dr. Edmond is originally from Denver, CO area and received her Baccalaureate of Science in Integrative Therapeutics at Metropolitan State University in Denver. 

Growing up with an art teacher as a mother, Dr. Edmond is passionate about creative expression. She believes that medicine is an art, especially naturopathic medicine, and uses this art to provide more individualized healthcare. 

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Edmond loves to create art through many mediums. She also loves to spent time playing outside through slack-lining and snowboarding.
